Based in the heart of Dublin city, Tailored has a full time staff of seven and produces edgy, story-driven, socially relevant film and TV content for European and international audiences. With a wide range of complementary skills, talents and creative abilities, our combined staff have the expertise to guide projects from development through to post-production, ensuring high-quality results that resonate with audiences globally. We are passionate about bold, impactful works that challenge conventional narratives and reflect contemporary social issues.
Ruth Treacy
Ruth is a Co-Founder and award winning Producer / Director at Tailored. She met producing partner Julianne at the National Film School IADT and their creative collaboration grew from there.
In its infancy the company focused primarily on digital projects, but for the last decade, Ruth has worked consistently as a producer on numerous award winning international feature films and TV projects (many of which were developed from concept through to completion in-house).
Film credits include ‘The Apprentice’ (2024 director Ali Abbasi), Bring Them Down’ (2024 director Chris Andrews), The Lodgers’ (2018 director Brian O’Malley), amongst others.
Films she has produced have premiered at festivals including; Official Competition at Cannes, TIFF, London Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, amongst many more.
Ruth has also directed 10 TV drama series, most recently the international YA series ‘Louise Lives Large’ which she was lead director on.
She works as head of development within Tailored and is a highly experienced creative and financial producer, managing budgets from €1 - €12 million +
She is a former Producer on the Move (2021), graduate of EAVE, Screen Leaders, and a member of the European Film Academy and the European Producers Club. She has been a selected mentor on the Screen Skills Ireland mentee scheme since 2020.
Julianne Forde
Julianne is a Co-Founder and Producer of Tailored. She and Ruth Treacy met at National Film School IADT and have collaborated throughout their filmmaking careers.
Julianne is Head of Production and technical operations. Her extensive background in cinematography work and an aptitude for post production has led to a successful path as VFX producer on many of the films produced by Tailored, for which she has won a number of awards, including an IFTA and a Screamfest award.
Julianne has produced several international feature films, most recently The Apprentice (2024), Bring Them Down (2024), Let The Wrong One In (2021) and The Winter Lake (2020).
She spearheaded Irish production on the international drama series ‘Der Irland Krimi’, now in its fifth series and produced YA series ‘Louise Lives Large’, a international co-production between Ireland, Belgium and Canada, as well as 9 other TV series.
Julianne is highly experienced in financing as well as planning, coordinating and executing all the technical components of Tailored’s productions. She also relishes the opportunity to work as director of photography on projects when possible. She is a member of IFTA and the European Producers Club. She is a mentor on the Screen Ireland Screen Skills scheme since 2020.
Mairtín de Barra
Mairtín de Barra joined Tailored in 2022, and has over 20 years experience in the TV and film industries. He is currently spearheading the company’s expanded focus on TV drama. He has produced series for RTÉ, BBC, and broadcasters in Belgium and Canada.
His most recent producing credit is for the 8x25 minute series “Louise Lives Large”, an Irish/Belgian/Canadian co-production; he also produced an RTÉ Sports documentary series in 2023, and he has worked for Tailored on ‘the Apprentice’ and ‘Bring Them Down’. He is currently prepping a number of projects that will shoot in 2025.
Alongside his work as a creative and financial producer, he has a very varied practical skillset in the film and TV industry, working in the capacity of production manager and location manager on numerous award winning series over the years.
Work he has directed is Emmy and Kidscreen nominated, and he has directed a number of factual series and documentaries for the BBC.
He is a graduate of EAVE and Screen Leaders and is a selected Producer on 2024's ACE Series Special.
Cal McGhee
Cal has managed over 50 film & TV projects at various stages of development for Tailored since he joined in 2019, many of which have successfully made the leap from script to screen.
Working closely with Head of Development Ruth Treacy, he is involved in sourcing and evaluating new material for the company, as well as the administrative side of managing and pitching the slate, and aids in the creative packaging of projects. He attends many international markets to meet with potential creative collaborators for Tailored.
Cal’s expertise also extends to successfully navigating funding systems, and he was an integral part of Tailored’s successful acquisition of Creative Europe Slate Funding twice. He has played a vital role in securing funding across a broad spectrum of bodies including Screen Ireland, Coimisiun na Mean, Section 481 and various other tender applications.
Cal is also a talented writer and is the creator and lead writer on Tailored’s young adult series for TG4 entitled ‘Yesterday’s Girl’ / ‘Ar Ais Aris’, which secured the highest Coimisuin na Mean award available towards production. His screenwriting work has been an asset to several in-house projects in development and he is due to direct his first funded short with Creative Europe in the coming year.
Gary Ryan
Gary joined Tailored in 2022 after over 20 years of experience in the media industry, including 14 years spent in London as an accountant for various companies. At Tailored, he manages the 481 tax credit process across all productions, oversees finances and compliance, handles contractual work for productions, and assists with financial closings.
Since joining, Gary has worked on two feature films, “The Apprentice” and “Bring Them Down,” as well as three TV series. He also oversees the finances across Tailored’s entire slate of projects.
With a strong background in finance and commercial roles, Gary's previous experience includes positions at companies such as Getty Images, McCann London, Egg Trading, and Music Choice TV. His qualifications include an honours degree in Accountancy and Finance and an HND in TV & Film Production.
Beyond his financial expertise, Gary has a passion for TV and film, having produced and directed several short films and music videos. He also spent a year in Asia working on documentary film research and production.
Diarmuid O’Brien
Diarmuid joined Tailored in 2022 working as a video editor. He has worked as an editor for over 10 years and began his post production career making Youtube shorts where he honed a skill for editing and motion graphics. He has also directed sketches for RTÉ’s Republic of Telly and the satirical news site Waterford Whispers News.
Before joining Tailored, Diarmuid worked as a freelance creative editor on digital campaigns for Bord Bia, Dunnes Stores and the ESB, and has since edited all of Tailored’s digital output, for clients such as the National Museum of Ireland, Bord Gáis Energy and Focus Ireland. He also directs and edits behind-the-scenes, social stings and EPK content for Tailored’s film and TV productions.
Diarmuid is also an experienced comedy scriptwriter for TV and live events (including the IFTAs). Since winning the Dermot Morgan Bursary in 2009, he has earned writing credits on BBC, Sky One, Amazon Prime and Disney+. He holds an MA in Writing from University of Galway.
Caitríona McCormack
Caitríona joined Tailored in late 2023, having previously worked freelance with the team on a number of TV projects in the role of assistant production coordinator.
Having worked consistently in the production field on numerous high end film and TV productions including Banshees of Inisherin, Foundation, Freud’s Last Session and upcoming features Christy and Fran The Man, she now works as a junior producer with Tailored.
With a unique combination of practical, organisational and administrative skills, she has been a great addition to the team. She has helped coordinate paperwork delivery on two feature films to date and also manages digital projects, inputs with the team on development work, and is due to produce her first short film in the coming months. Caitríona is a fluent Irish speaker and will help develop Tailored’s Irish Language slate.
She holds a BA in Communications from University of Galway.
