Mark your calendars for Wednesday April 3rd at 4pm GMT as we invite you to join us for the series premiere of ‘Louise Lives Large’ on RTÉ 2!

It is with great pleasure that we announce the highly anticipated premiere of our latest television series, which will run for 8 weeks with a brand new episode every Wednesday for Irish viewers.

Canadian viewers will see a sneak peak of the show on Family Channel April 3rd at 7:30pm EST before the series officially premieres with a double-bill of episodes 1 and 2 on April 10th at 7pm EST.

Created and written by Carol Walsh, and co-written by Richie Conroy and Sian Ní Mhuirí, ‘Louise Lives Large’ is a half-hour live-action YA drama that follows the misadventures of newly cancer-free teen Louise Edgar.

Directed by Ruth Treacy and Laura Van Haecke, ‘Louise Lives Large’ is an international co-production for Tailored with Storyhouse (Belgium) and Vérité Films (Canada).

The series was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Tailored Films, Polar Bear (BE), Storyhouse (BE), Ketnet (BE), and Vérité Films (CA), with financial support from RTÉ, Screen Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán, Creative Europe, the Irish Tax Credit, Canadian Provincial and Federal Tax Credits, the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), and the Tax Shelter of the Belgian Federal Government via Flanders Tax Shelter.

Filmed on location in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, ‘Louise Lives Large’ showcases fresh young talent in our two main leads Beth Fallon and Aimee Kennedy in the roles of Louise and Jess, whose onscreen friendship provides the framework for an uplifting story about conquering childhood illness and finding empowerment through completing a curated list of teen milestones.

In addition to its array of talented young actors, the series features a stellar lineup of adult characters portrayed by Camille Lucy Ross, Joren Seldeslachts, Jade Jordan, Maura Foley, Gus McDonagh, and Brendan McCormack.

The auspicious timing of the series premiere comes during Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer awareness week (April 1-5). Having partnered with CanTeen Ireland during development of the show, we are very proud to support this cause and urge viewers to visit www.cancer.ie to find out how you can raise awareness this year.

‘Louise Lives Large’ is notable for its address of themes surrounding teen health, LGBTQIA+ issues, family dynamics and adolescent self-esteem. With its blend of drama, humour, and heartfelt moments, ‘Louise Lives Large’ explores the complexities of coming-of-age in a way that is entertaining for the whole family while fixed for underserved tween audiences.
